Spiritual Direction and Coaching for our seasons spent in the seam,

those in-between, transitional spaces where pause and pivot are invited.

You are not alone.

In the seam of a river, a visible line forms in the water signaling two separate currents coming together–

fast- and slow-moving water right beside each other.

In this "seam," there is a kind of covering for rest and reenergizing. For trout, that is.

We, too, come upon seams along the way, the places where we can learn to rest and then rise renewed

from life's disruptive, disorienting, or depleting transitions.

And in the seam, we crave compassionate witness– a companion and communion.

What does it mean to be in the seam?

That you are in a place now that you won't be forever— an in-between space, where reflection, change, and healing are uniquely offered. Most of the time, we only notice these spaces when they're disruptive or unsettling.

What has placed you in the seam?

Maybe a big life question or change that's here now, or that you anticipate.

  • A loss

  • An uncertain future

  • A new relationship, or the end of one

  • A new opportunity that requires a difficult decision

  • A feeling of being in exile, or as though life as you've known it now feels foreign and irretrievable

  • A diagnosis

  • A move, or someone moving out a roommate, a partner, a child

  • A sense of being stuck, vocationally

  • A longing, with curiosity about how friendship works in this season of life

  • A wondering: Now what?

The seam can feel uncomfortable at first, because you're not sure which way things are moving. Or because maybe you didn't choose what put you there. But in our in-between spaces lie some of our most transformational opportunities, and we can best identify and receive them with a companion.

Do you long for someone to really listen to you— to be fully yourself and be met with openness, time, space, and an accepting heart?

Are you feeling open or ready to work with someone who will be present and curious, ask questions to bring clarity and perspective, and offer encouragement along the way?

Let's see if we're a fit.
